Wolverhampton Society of Artists
Small Wonders at Wolverhampton Art Gallery
3 April – 4 July 2025
This exhibition of small works by artists from the Wolverhampton Society of Artists’ membership and the Good Shepherd was developed along the theme of Senses.
For the project, a size restriction of 10cm in any direction was set for presentation in 15cm square frames for wall hung works, while for three dimensional works, the maximum size limit was 15cm in any direction.
The majority of works have been made specifically for this exhibition. The intention was to challenge the artists to think on a different scale to their usual practice and to include artists from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences.
The Good Shepherd is a Wolverhampton-based charity aiming to end homelessness, support recovery and create pathways out of poverty. It has been supporting people in the city since 1972.
Wolverhampton Society of Artists has been exhibiting at Wolverhampton Art Gallery since the Society was formed in 1919. We are proud to continue with this close relationship into the 21st Century.
Our late, much missed member, Chris Manley, was an active, committed supporter of the Good Shepherd. This exhibition is in recognition of his contribution to both organisations.

Meet the Artist Event at Ironbridge Fine Arts Gallery – Saturday 22 March
Join me at Ironbridge Fine Arts Gallery Meet the Artists event Saturday 22 March.
Ironbridge Fine Arts Gallery’s Spring Exhibition’s ‘Meet the Artist’ event is this Saturday 22 March. You will be able to meet the current featured artists between 1pm and 4pm.I’m really looking forward to it. Due to a prior booking I won’t be there at the start but will definitely be there later on in the middle of the afternoon.
I hope to see you there, but you can still see the exhibition later as it is on until 31 May 2025. The gallery is open Tuesday-Saturday from 10am and closed Sunday and Monday. The gallery is next to the river in Merrythought Village which has a small, free carpark. There is also an adjacent, larger paying carpark.
Join us for an inspiring life drawing session, with our model Holly Fellows. Open to all WSA members. Whether you’re exploring figure drawing or honing your craft, this relaxed and supportive environment is perfect for developing your skills.
Note: This session is open to WSA members only. Details of access to the session will be shared via email, with attendees prior to the event.
