During the Autumn term we are continuing to donate inspirational art books to schools, begining with a visit to Merridale Primary school in Aspen Way. Headteacher, Simon Lane was most welcoming and highly delighted with the collection of books we were able to present to the school. He made time to talk about the importance of the creative arts in education and introduced us to a group of children taking part in the presentation.
The staff at Merridale are passionate about extending the experiences of pupils in the school and are keen to encourage all aspect of creativity. The school is a ‘forest school’ with a great deal of learning taking place outside so that learning comes from exploration of nature. They have even got a yurt! It’s a lovely place to be.
