Hunter Deorum
Hunter Deorum, recipient of the Fine Art 2024 WSA Jarvis award, is a multidisciplinary artist who specializes in illustration, graphic design, and animation. Central to Deorum’s practice is the exploration of the intersection between art and psychology, with a particular focus on the aesthetic experience. By examining how visual stimuli influence cognitive and emotional responses, Deorum
creates art that not only engages but also transforms the viewer’s perception.

His work has been featured in galleries, institutions and print, including Wolverhampton Art Gallery (2018), Citizens Photography (2020), Staffordshire University (2022), Staffordshire University Prospectus (2023), and Newhampton Arts Centre (2024). Additionally, he received the Wolverhampton Society of Artists Jarvis Prize for his work investigating the psychology behind fine art (2024).
Deorum’s next endeavour (2025) is an ambitious interdisciplinary project that examines the psychology of the aesthetic experience and its potential to be a powerful tool for environmental education. This project builds on the artist’s ongoing exploration of how art can influence cognition and emotion, with a particular focus on sustainability and ecological awareness.
