Jacklyn McDonald
I am a self taught printmaker who works in reduction lino printing who creates all my art by hand. I love experimenting and learning more about the process as I create each piece. My inspiration is taken from photographs of my travels. I am interested in both urban and rural settings, from vast landscapes of Scotland to dense urban scenes of Ecuador.
I enjoy the meditative process of carving into lino and building scenes layer by layer and am fascinated by colours and how they interact with each other as each layer is printed. I love how each piece is unique regardless of how many times it is printed from the same lino. I primarily use Japanese double-sided vinyl and traditional lino to create my prints using oil-based relief ink.
