Annette Hughes
‘My art is informed by both my daily walks in nature and my geometry background in Mathematics. I am currently working with textile and acrylic from my workshop at the bottom of the garden.
My practice begins with a walk in the local countryside. An inspired collection of words are formulated into a few lines which together with ideas from my sketch book provide the foundation for the textile and the acrylic works that follow.
The three elements of poetry, textile, and paint interweave together and enable me to instil a sense of time and place into the work that I create.’
