After holding art teaching posts at schools in Walsall, Cannock and Wolverhampton I took early retirement in 1995.
In 1983 I held a one-man exhibition of drawings and paintings at The Tettenhall Gallery. And since this period, I have exhibited locally, mainly at the Wolverhampton Society of Art exhibitions, and at the former West Midland exhibitions at Himley Park. One success, at the latter, came when I was awarded the second prize in the painting section.
I have always enjoyed working in a variety of media that includes, ceramics, fabric design, lithography, lino, screen-print, and lately collage. However, as I believe drawing to be the sound basis for all artwork, I include here a charcoal portrait of my father. (Bob Twynam) This, I still believe to be my finest work.
