I came to art rather late after an illness which left me debilitated for a while. I always thought I would like to paint and attended two seminars with Keith Fenwick, Lakeland watercolour painter, who really set me on my way.
I enrolled on a Stafford College watercolour course run by Louise Griffin and attended once a week and simultaneously joined an amateur watercolour landscape group run by the late WSA member Bob Owen. Eighteen years down the line I have found great satisfaction in producing watercolour painting inspired by both Louise and Bob and my knowledge of the medium is testament to their teaching. I now attend twice a week with |Louise and cover all media including coloured pencils, graphite, inks and guache but my first love will always b e watercoulours. As far as subject – anything goes.
